New Inn

  Name New Inn Address 144 Wakefield Road, Adwalton, Drighlington BD11 1EA Built ? but see the photo below with additional details Closed Yes Demolished No Notes Bradford Telegraph and Argus reported a police investigation of suspected arson at the pub on 25 September 2021. A car had been set on fire in the car park, a number of windows at the pub were also smashed and petrol poured ththrough during the incident. "What pub" website dated 30 December 2021 stated that the pub is closed and partially boarded up, which was still the case in July 2023. F: Baines 1830, Pigot 1841, Robinson 1905. Gas House Tavern

Closed Yes Demolished No Notes D.Atkinson: Was called the Gas House Tavern until 22nd December 1953 when it changed to the Cockersdale Arms. Owned by Daniel Fielding of Halifax until June 1961. At some later date it was changed back to the original name of Gas House Tavern. Licensee 1905 Joseph Barker (Beerhouse). Brewery owner 1970 Websters. The last review on the web about the pub was in November 2008. The pub was converted to residential use after this date.

White Horse Inn

Licensees 1853 - Sam Troughton, 1905 – Catherine Gledhill. On an original memorial card “ In remembance(sic) of The White Horse Inn, Adwalton, that was closed December 21 st 1912 Aged 99 years. On my sweet lips you’ve kisses pressed a thousand times or more, O may we all together rest when breweries are no more!” After the pub closed the building was used by Adwalton Working Men’s Club

White Hart Hotel

Closed Yes Demolished Yes in 1964 Notes This was a large many roomed hotel & public house in front of the feast ground. John Brooke of the White Hart Hotel was granted a charter to have horse fairs in 1577. They were common here until around 1900. Licensees 1853 – John Helliwell, 1905 Sam Waterhouse. Change of ownership document dated 26 November 1812.
